So, it’s been -months- since we’ve posted an update. We’ve been really, really busy working on projects, and we’ll post some of the highlights individually soon. We made the decision to let some of our grassroots projects gain momentum before actively promoting them again and that’s going very well. We’ve been working on a few new easy ways to make living sustainably (or at least having a positive impact on the environment) a little easier, and we’re excited to launch those in the coming months.
Tunes for Trees is growing steadily - we’ve had about 5000 visitors so far and have planted over 2500 trees since last April!
The TreeTini has planted over 1500 trees. It’s available in 2 bars in Chicago now and we’re talking to a few more. We’d love to talk to bars you know / you think might be interested - drop us a line.
We’re working on new designs for One Ton CO2 and we’re going to be changing the look and feel of the site.
Carbon Neutral Clothing is gaining traction. After WWD Magic in August, we’ve been featured on MSN Green a few times and we’ve been talking to a number of interested clothing manufacturers.
If you’re in the Chicago area, make sure to stop by the Green Room Sessions at Uncommon Ground for a TreeTini!
It’s going to be a great year for all things sustainable and a great year for Live It Green!

“… customers looking for a little eco-inebriation will just have to try one of Uncommon Ground’s other green cocktails, like the “Treetini” — melon-infused organic vodka, mint simple syrup and organic white grape juice.
And if that doesn’t sound virtuous enough, the restaurant, with Chicago-based eco-company Live It Green, will plant a tree for every Treetini sold. So far, they’ve sponsored 30 to 50 trees, Feil said.”
Actually over 200 trees =)

“Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 22, 2007 — Clothing production is a worldwide process that generates a worldwide environmental impact that largely goes unchecked. Carbon Neutral Clothing™ is a certification mark that demonstrates a manufacturer has taken responsibility for the carbon dioxide emissions created by the production of their clothing…”

Think of it as multi tasking at its best. Starting with the I-Go Audio Emissions after party (don’t miss out on the actual party) on May 31st (to be held at Uncommon Ground), we are launching the TreeTini™ - for every one of these tasty martinis ordered we will plant a tree. The drink features organic vodka and organic mixers and was co-created by a friend of ours from a Chicago Non-profit focused on outdoor racing. For the first event we have selected a cucumber infusion with a hint of mint and a dash of sugar, perfect for a hot summer night. Remember to order it by name. After the initial launch it will become a permanent fixture on the Uncommon Ground menu so everyone can enjoy it! This is just the beginning, imagine a city wide movement of organic drinks that plant a tree with every single one ordered. That’s the vision - we are working hard to make it a reality.
Many thanks to both I-Go and the Audio Emissions event for working with our Neutral Events™ initiative and to Uncommon Ground for not only being the most environmentally forward-thinking restaurant in Chicago but also hosting the Green Room Sessions.
